L'expression "Quartier Latin", issue de la rive gauche parisienne est apparue à Québec début XXe siècle en raison de la présence dans le voisinage d'importantes institutions d'enseignements.
The expression "Quartier Latin" which came from the parisian left bank ot the Seine river, began to be used in Quebec city in the beginning of the XXth century because of the presence of many important educational institutions in the neighbourhood.
